I decided that for my first BW in a long while, I should feature something striking. I think I found it.
This is the DNA bookcase, designed by Alessandro Elli for Linfa Design. Made of steel and plywood, the bookcase takes its distinctive shape from that ubiquitous molecule, merging form and function for a look that's both hard and soft at the same time.
And while I'm a sucker for a strong wall color, as in the first photo, I think this bookcase really shines when it's presented as a stark and solitary piece, so that the simplicity of its lines can be fully appreciated. For something that needs to be sturdy, it looks deceptively delicate, and the more I stare at it, the more I like it.
