Check. This. Out. This is a gem I found at Half Price Books this weekend for $1. I agonized over whether to buy it or not—could my curiosity at its content possibly overcome the shame of sliding it across the counter to the salesperson? The back of the book offered this as a tease:
Darcy's as hot as he is talented...Fast music, powerful beats, and wild reputations—on and off stage—have made virtuoso guitarist Fitzwilliam Darcy's band into rock's newest bad boys. But they've lost their latest opening act, and their red-hot summer tour is on the fast track to disaster. Now Darcy and bandmates Charles Bingley and Richard Fitzwilliam are about to meet their match...
But she's about to rock his world...Enter Elizabeth Bennet, fiercely independent star of girl-band Long Borne Suffering. Elizabeth, her sister Jane, and friend Charlotte Lucas have talent to spare and jump at the opening band slot. Elizabeth is sure she's seen the worst the music industry has to offer. But as the days and nights heat up, it becomes clear that everyone is in for a summer to remember.
In the end, I decided to hide it among a pile of more respectable tomes (Kafka, Updike, James) and let you guys decide whether I should crack its pages.
EDIT: The poll I had previously posted is on the fritz, so we'll have to do this manually.
So, fair readers, should I read this?
A: Yes, your pain is our gain. I want to know just how deliciously bad it is.
B: No, I can't let you do this to yourself!
C: Neither — you should put it up for a giveaway and let the winner give us their verdict in a guest post.
Pick an option and post it in the comments!

This one is on MY TBR. I have to admit, I'm kind of curious to see how it's executed.
I'm torn between A and C. It's kind of sad how intriguing this is. Maybe if the names weren't exactly the same I'd be more intrigued - like they could have different last names perhaps? Modern takes on classics is nothing new but the blatantness of this one seems odd to me.
C. Definitely C.
A.
I like Option C but I'd be worried the guest blogger wouldn't be a good enough writer, and I love your book reviews, so A.
I'm in for A, haha. Sometimes the shame of trashy horrible books is worth it for how amusing they are :)
A! I saw this book a few weeks ago and had the same dilemma as you. Please read it and tell us what you think!
B for sure!
